Sports equipment

Sports equipment will be charged at R285.00 per item per person per flight and is limited to 32kg. Sporting equipment exceeding 32kg will not be accepted. This equipment will be transported as cargo at the passenger's own expense and may not be carried on the same flight as you. Maximum dimensions allowed for sporting equipment: 250 x 80 x 75 cm

Golf Equipment:

This includes a golf bag containing a set of golf clubs and a pair of golf shoes.

Bicycles:

This excludes motorised bicycles. Non-motorised bicycles must be disassembled and packed according to aircraft requirements and checked in no later than 90 minutes before departure.

Here's a guide on how to pack your bike properly:

  • Remove the front wheel, partially deflate the tyres to reduce the risk of damage.
  • Turn the handlebars so they're in line with the frame.
  • Remove any attachments, including pedals.
  • Ensure the gearing is especially well protected.
  • Protect the frame with bubble wrap
  • Shift to the highest gear
  • Pack your bicycle in a box or a specially manufactured bike case
  • Only bike parts must be packed in the box
  • Box to be sealed and tagged
  • No part of the bike should protrude out of the box.
  • Please note that no bicycle tools will be allowed on hand luggage.
  • Four CO2 gas cartridges, not exceeding 28g each, per bike are allowed.

Ski Equipment:
  • One pair of skis, one pair of ski poles, one pair of boots; or
  • One snowboard, one pair of boots

Water Ski equipment:

One pair of standard water skis

Scuba Diving Equipment:

All equipment to be packed in a recognised kit bag:

  • Snorkel
  • Tank pressure gauge
  • Scuba regulator
  • Buoyancy control device
  • Empty cylinder tank (diving cylinders must be empty, and proof thereof reflected using manufacturer seal
  • Face mask and fins

Surfboard:

The surfboard may not exceed 2.5m in length and must be protected using bubble wrap or must be carried in a recognised surfboard bag.

Fishing Equipment:
  • Two rods
  • One reel
  • One pair of fishing boots
  • One tackle box
  • One landing net

Tennis equipment:

You can bring one racquet kit bag containing your tennis racquets and balls.

Tenpin bowling:

Ball and shoes are to be placed in one bag

Lacrosse / hockey:

Sticks, balls, team kit and pads in one equipment bag.
